Emulsion Production Unit With Vertical Separator

Demo Information

This is an exploration demonstration, not an operation exercise. In this demonstration, gauges, valves and working regulators are not present.

The purpose of the exploration is to become acquainted with the inside of a vertical separator and an emulsion production unit. The following image is of the basic unit and the demonstration control panel.

A separator takes product stream flowing from the well head and separates any gas and water from the oil. This demonstration explores how this is accomplished.

The buttons on the control panel Show and hide various parts of the unit so you can see inside.

In Second Life demonstrations it may take a second or two for a clicked button to respond. It is best to place the cursor arrow over a button, wait until a pointer hand shows up, then click once. The button will change color and the operation will be performed. The "Skin" button has three steps that it cycles through.

The following image shows the unit with its skin partially transparent, the main pipes partially transparent, and wellstream product flowing through the pipes.

Feel free to use your arrow keys to move around the unit and use the control buttons to see inside of the unit in operation. The following images point out several features of the demonstration to pay attention to. Use the Alt key and mouse to zoom into various parts of the unit for a better view.
